A HIMOD® System essentially consists of the appropriate fieldbus coupler, digital and analog input and output modules as well as sensor and actuator interfaces.
Up to 16 modules can be operated with one fieldbus coupler, and the system can be expanded to up to 62 modules by installing additional power modules. This means that even complex and extensive procedures can be observed and controlled in a process.
A wide range of configurable functionalities is provided per module channel. This simplifies logistics, increases flexibility and reduces the number of modules.
With the user-friendly software “SmartControl“, the configuration and parameterization of the modules is quickand easy. Communication takes place either via the SmartPort interface of the coupler or via the fieldbus interfaces.
Due to the “HotSwap” feature of HIMOD® an extension of the system is possible at any time even during operation. Each module is assigned its own address by the internal automatic self-configuration of the field coupler. When a module is replaced, the new one is automatically assigned the address and configuration data of the one it replaces. The address of the field coupler itself can be set user-specifically with two rotary switches.
The extensive selection of modules offers an ideal complement to the I/O level of the HE 5697 MFC, including a number of special modules for special sensors and functions
